Romancing Yourself.

Yes, I said it. Romancing Yourself!

Sometimes you go through a period in which you become so caught up in life and whatnots you get lost in life's daily dramas. Have you ever stopped to ask what has become of you? Or Who are you today?
Its good to give love, time and energy to those you care for, but how can you give to others what you dont have much for yourself?  Its a long process, but I believe its gonna be worth it. Rebuilding my indepence, confidence, and my self-love.

So here are some things that popped into my head listening to others problems and some of them for my very own good:

*Dont wait for others to do those "little things" for me. I am more than capable of doing it for myself.
(There is nothing wrong with buying yourself flowers, chocolates, etc! Esp if your taste changes according to your mood-likes mines- then you will be happier with your choice.)

*Taking myself out to a quiet dinner, movie, or basically a date.
(Therefore I can enjoy spoiling myself with whatever I feel like, pigging out with dessert included and NOT FEEL self-conscious about it! Oh and on another note, I plead GUILTY! I AM A TALKER!! so i AM my own best companion while watching a movie. Don't hate me for it. I have spared many people from the ordeal.)

*Do things or buy things for myself that will make me feel better about who I am.
(Give yourself MAKEOVERS. Get a new hairdo....Just whatever you define to be beautiful. Like the saying goes, "Once you look good. You feel good." And DONT BE AFRAID to try new looks or new trends!)

*DONT BE AFRAID TO REINVENT WHO I AM.
(I can be whom ever I want to be at whichever stage of life I am at. We don't have to live our life according to others.)

I can go on forever with my list, but I hope it may inspire you to make your own list. I have seen so many people change themselves for others. They get so lost they sometimes they dont know how to get back to who they were. I may not be Dr. Phil or Oprah Winfrey or even some spectaculer beauty guru out there, but I have had my own journey (probably even similar to yours). With all that being said, I sincerely.....

hope your heart heals from pain past and present.
hope you find your inner beauty and cherish it.
hope you find peace and forgiveness.
hope you fall love in yourself again.

God Bless!

"You are the light of the world--like a city on a mountain, glowing in the night for all to see. Dont hide your light under a basket! Instead, put it on a stand and let it shine for all."

"New goals...new life...new me"

Who hasn't blogged about that?! Well needless to say I haven't. I was an Old Maid trying to find some destination and meaning for my life, but today I am just a tired, sick of people defining my life for me, wanna-be happy, independent woman who has finally had her epiphany.

I posted on Facebook a status that I thought fitted love and relationship almost completely. It is:

"No, Snow White can' t have Prince Charming. Cinderella can't have Prince Phillip...
You can't mix and match them. Sometimes it's just how life is. You can't fight the inevitable nor fate, but you can enjoy your moments of happiness until you happily ever after starts pursuing you."

Not to say argue with the whole you make your own destiny saying. I just wanted imply that you can't force love or nature and no one knows about tomorrow, but you can enjoy today. Let things happen naturally.

So after almost a decade with my exboyfriend....(yes almost a decade of friendship than relationship)...and helping people dig themselves out of trouble....sacrifices no one forced me to make....nor are they even remembered and only occasionally thanked for...I AM FREEING MYSELF OF ALL THAT. For my own sanity I do declare myself free of it all. I am now going to start taking better care of my mental, emotional, and physical health.

NEW GOALS...NEW LIFE...NEW ME.... So Here are some things I would like to ATTEMPT:

*Learn a new language
(doesn't matter if I can speak it or read or write fluently)

*Learn to knit/crochet/scrapbook
(I don't know either...I guess something to keep my hands busy??)

*Learn new words
(to make myself feel smarter :P )

*Become a more organized couponer
(yes I love couponing. But I am horrible at keeping organized lol)

*Save up to travel
(Rome, Greece, Southeast Asia etc....places I dreamt of as a little girl)

Last, but not least BLOG which I know is moot, but it's on my list of to-do's so I guess let the journey begin.
